International Desk: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been arrested. He was arrested in front of the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday (May 9). This was reported by the country’s news media, Dawn.
According to reports, paramilitary forces, the Pak Rangers, arrested him. They were taken away in a black car by law enforcement officers.
It is known that Imran Khan has been arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case. Imran appeared in court today, seeking bail in several cases filed against him.
PTI’s vice president and former information minister, Fawad Chowdhury, said in a tweet that the Islamabad High Court is in the possession of ‘Rangers’. Lawyers are being tortured. Imran Khan’s car was surrounded.
In another tweet, he said Imran Khan was abducted from the court premises. Several lawyers and ordinary people were tortured at this time. Imran Khan was taken to an unknown place by unknown people.
On the other hand, PTI’s Azhar Mashwani complained that Rangers kidnapped Imran from inside the court. The party immediately called for protests across the country.
Imran Khan was arrested after several attempts. Earlier, the police conducted a raid to arrest him at his residence in Zaman Park, Lahore.
