It is known that one of the three rockets fired in the first phase landed in the Israeli-occupied Golan Valley. Three rockets were fired in the second phase as well. This set off warning sirens in northern Israel. However, no casualties were reported.
In response to this incident, Israel has claimed that rockets and drones have been attacked in Syria. However, the Syrian government did not comment on this.
Meanwhile, Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, has accepted responsibility for the rocket attack on Israel from Syrian territory.
This rocket attack was launched from Syria into Israel in the context of increasing Israeli-Palestinian tensions as a result of the armed operation of the Israeli police at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Last Wednesday (April 5), Israeli forces attacked Palestinian worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site for Muslims in East Jerusalem. At least 400 Palestinians were arrested at that time. The next day, the Israelis ran riot again in Al-Aqsa. Meanwhile, stun grenades and rubber bullets were thrown at the Palestinians who were going to pray in the mosque.
