According to reports, King Charles III bestowed the title of ‘Duke of Edinburgh’ on his late father, Prince Philip, and his brother, Edward. Edward was given the title on his 59th birthday in honor of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s wishes. He will hold this position for life.
Prince Philip received the title of Duke of Edinburgh when he married Princess Elizabeth in 1947. Elizabeth later became Queen Elizabeth II in 1952. Rani died in 2022. Earlier, Prince Philip died in 2021. He was Duke of Edinburgh for 70 years.
