Clash of councilors during the swearing-in ceremony

International Desk: Clashes took place between the councils of the Aam Aadmi Party (UP) and BJP in Delhi, the capital of India. Clashes erupted during the swearing-in ceremony of councilors elected to the Delhi Municipal Corporation on Friday (February 24). News Anandabazar newspaper

Shelly Oberoi has been elected as the new mayor of Delhi Municipality. After the election of the mayor and deputy mayor, a 6-member standing committee is elected. But the sessions are pending again and again. After a vote was declared “invalid,” Mayor Shelley claimed there would be no recount to elect a 6-member standing committee. After that, a loud commotion started. BJP councilors started raising slogans against the mayor. A fight begins.

During the clash, the BJP alleged that the mayoral and deputy mayors were banned from carrying pens and mobile phones during the election. But it was different during the secret ballot. UP councilors took pictures on mobile phones. An urgent situation is created with this.

During the fight, BJP MLA Meenakshi Sharma alleged that she was hit with a sharp object. He told news agency ANI, “They grabbed my neck.” A male councilor assaulted me.

After that, he attacked Shelley and said, “I don’t know if he is the mayor of Delhi or Uttar Pradesh!” only worked under Arvind Kejriwal’s instructions.

The BJP demands that the MCD elections be re-run.On the other hand, the AAP alleged that the BJP could not accept the defeat and was playing hooliganism.
