International Desk: India has bought nearly 24 billion US dollars worth of foreign defense equipment in the last five years. Which is one lakh 90 thousand crore rupees in Indian currency. These include helicopters, fighter jet radars, rockets, guns, pistols, missiles and ammunition. India has bought these from some other countries including USA, Russia, France, Israel and Spain. Junior Defense Minister Ajay Bhatt gave this information in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
According to a report by the Times of India, India has the third highest position in the world in terms of defense expenditure, behind Russia and the United Kingdom. But India is far behind its powerful neighbor China. China spends four times more than India and the US spends ten times more than India.
It is reported that in the financial year 2017-18 30 thousand 677 crore rupees, in the financial year 2018-19 38 thousand 116 crores, in the financial year 2019-20 40 thousand 330 crores, in the financial year 2020-21 43 thousand 916 crores and in the financial year 2021-22 40 thousand 840 crore rupees. India bought Of this, Rafale fighter jets have been purchased from France at a cost of Rs 59,000 crore.
