The death toll from a mosque suicide attack in Pakistan has risen to 92

International Desk: A powerful suicide attack took place during prayers inside a mosque in the police line area of the northwestern city of Peshawar, Pakistan. 92 people were killed and 157 were injured in the attack.

A medical emergency has been declared in all hospitals in Peshawar after this attack. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack. This information about security and health officials was provided by the country’s media, Geo News.

The casualty was informed by Peshawar Police Commissioner Riyaz Mehsud.He stated that a rescue operation is underway in the mosque that was destroyed in the attack.A medical emergency has been declared in hospitals across Peshawar. Besides, the road towards the red zone has been closed.

According to security officials, the suicide bomber detonated while standing in the front row during Zohar prayers. Dozens of worshipers were gathered in it. They have been admitted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

A spokesperson for the hospital said that the injured are still being brought to the hospital. Many of the injured are in critical condition. Hospital authorities have appealed to citizens to donate blood for the injured.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Interim Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan declared a medical emergency in all hospitals in Peshawar soon after the attack. Apart from this, he ordered the rescue agencies to increase their relief activities.
