International Desk: Four people have been sentenced to death in Iran. The accused were accused of working with Israeli intelligence and involvement in the kidnapping. Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Wednesday (November 30) citing Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency.

Iran’s Judiciary Department’s Mizan Online website identified the four people sentenced to death as Hossein Ordoukhanzadeh, Shahin Imani Mahmudabad, Milad Ashrafi Atbatan and Manouchehr Shahbandi Bojandi. However, no further information about them has been disclosed there.

Iran’s semi-official news agency reported on Wednesday, citing Israel, that “four people accused of aiding the Zionist regime’s intelligence agency and kidnapping have been sentenced to death.”

It added: ‘Under the direction of the Zionist intelligence service, this network of thugs is stealing and destroying private and public property, kidnapping people and extracting false confessions.’

Mehr news agency said the accused were arrested by Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Ministry of Intelligence.

In addition, Mizan Online also reported that three other accused have been sentenced to five to 10 years in prison for crimes against the country’s security, kidnapping and possession of weapons.

Incidentally, Tehran has long accused Israel of carrying out covert operations on Iranian soil. At the same time, the West Asian country accuses its arch-enemy of carrying out sabotage attacks against Iranian nuclear facilities and killing important people, including scientists.
