The Crime Desk: Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) said that the country’s inflation has increased to 10.87 percent in October. According to the agency’s data, inflation has increased due to higher prices of food items, especially rice and vegetables.

It is reported that inflation was the highest in October in the last three months. Earlier, overall consumer price inflation was 9.92 percent in September and 10.49 percent in August.

Food inflation rose to 12.66 percent in October from 10.40 percent in July, BBS said. Non-food inflation stood at 9.34 percent in October, up from 9.5 percent a month ago.

Bangladesh has been struggling with increasingly high inflation for nearly two years. Headline inflation has been above nine percent since March 2023. Which has affected the low and fixed-income people of the country.
