Putin’s phone call to Iran’s interim president

International Desk: Russian President Vladimir Putin called Iran’s newly appointed interim president, Mohammad Mokhbar. Putin called Ibrahim Raisi a “reliable partner” in the phone conversation. This information was confirmed by the Kremlin.

The two leaders expressed a mutual desire to strengthen Russia-Iran ties, the Kremlin said.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Iran has become an important military ally of Moscow. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin mourned the death of Ibrahim Raisi.

He called Raisi an “extraordinary politician” and a “true friend of Russia.”.
