Bangladesh’s Nahida in the ICC ODI team of the year

Sports Desk: Today, Tuesday (January 23), the ICC announced the XI of women cricketers who performed well in ODI cricket in 2023. And Nahida Akhter from Bangladesh has made it to the ICC’s best XI of the year. But India has no one.

Chamari Atapattu of Sri Lanka was selected as the captain of the team of the year. Also included are Australia’s Phoebe Lichfield, Elise Perry, Ash Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Beth Mooney (wicketkeeper), New Zealand’s Emelia Kerr, Leah Tahuhu, England’s Nat Seaver Brant, and South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk.

Spinner Nahida took 20 wickets in 11 matches in 2023. Which was the second highest in the cricket world that year. Only Australian off-spinner Ashley Gardner had more wickets than him. He took 24 wickets in 13 matches.

Nahida took 7 wickets in the home series against Pakistan. In the second match of this series, Bangladesh won the Super Over with great bowling. Pakistan picked up two wickets in five balls. The visitors could score only 7 runs, and Bangladesh easily won the super over.

He took three wickets in the third ODI. His brilliant bowling ensured Bangladesh won the series. Besides, in the series against India, he took 6 wickets at an average of 15.

She also became the ICC Women’s Player of the Year with a brilliant performance against Pakistan in November. This time, he made it to the best ODI team of the year.
