Economy Desk: In the first six months (July–December) of the current financial year 2023–24, the export income of the country has reached 2 thousand 754 million US dollars. This export income is 0.88 percent more than the same period of the previous year.
This information is known from the updated statistics of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). During the July-December period of the last financial year 2022–23, the amount of export income was 2 thousand 731 crore, or 12 lakh dollars.
According to EPB data, during the period under discussion, the main export product, clothing, earned 2,339,130,000 dollars. Out of this, knitted garments (sweaters, T-shirts) worth 1 thousand 348 million dollars have been exported, and the export of oven products (shirts, pants) has reached 991 million 11 million dollars.
In addition, during July–December, jute and jute products were exported at 436.1 million dollars, home textiles at 370 million dollars, leather and leather products at 523 million dollars, plastic products at 116.66 million dollars, agricultural products at 507.9 million dollars, frozen fish at 21 million 51 million dollars, and chemical products at 17 million 49 million dollars.
Meanwhile, the export income in the last month of December reached 5308 million dollars.
