International Desk: The world is constantly getting warmer and warmer. People are suffering from the effects of climate change, and animals are suffering. Therefore, the leaders of more than one and a half hundred countries have united to deal with this climate crisis.

The 28th edition of the World Climate Conference (Conference of the Parties) begins on Thursday (November 30) at Xpro City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The conference will continue until December 12.

Leaders from more than 160 countries are joining this conference. Besides them, more than 70 thousand representatives of different countries are appearing at this conference.

It is said that this conference will discuss the implementation of the pledges made by various countries to reduce global warming.

Sultan Al-Jaber, chief executive of ADNOC, the national oil company of the United Arab Emirates, has been made president of this year’s COP-28 conference. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Britain’s King Charles are participating in the conference. However, none of the United States, the United Kingdom, or China are participating in this climate protection conference.

Around the conference, Sultan told Al-Jaber, We have no time to waste. We need to take urgent action now to reduce carbon emissions. We have to be ready to deliver any decision globally. which will play a role in saving people’s lives and livelihoods.

There is a delegation from Bangladesh at this conference as well. Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin will represent Bangladesh in the 22-member delegation.

Delegations and journalists from different countries around the world have already arrived.

Meanwhile, environmental scientists say that due to climate change, sea level rise, salinity increase, river erosion, floods, droughts, and fires are increasing. It is feared that by 2100, sea level may rise by at least 1.62 cm. If that happens, at the end of the twenty-first century, about half a hundred countries will disappear below sea level.
