International Desk: In exchange for 50 hostages, the Israeli government has approved a temporary ceasefire in besieged Gaza. The Israeli government announced this information in a statement on Wednesday (November 22). The proposal made by Hamas included the release of Palestinians imprisoned in various Israeli prisons. However, the statement did not mention anything in that regard. This information was reported by Al Jazeera on Wednesday, November 22.

According to the report, the Netanyahu government approved the four-day ceasefire agreement brokered by Qatar. According to the agreement, 150 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons will be released in exchange for the release of 50 hostages. Most of them are women and children. Al Jazeera journalist Hamdah Salhut from occupied East Jerusalem said, “The Prime Minister’s Office said that the Israeli government has voted to approve the cease-fire agreement with Hamas.” However, the final copy of this agreement has not reached us. It has not yet been released to the media or the public.’

Earlier on Tuesday (November 21), a report by Al Jazeera said that Israel and the Palestinian independence group Hamas have agreed to reach an agreement for the first time in the war that has been going on for more than a month and a half.

It should be noted that Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. According to Israel, more than 1,200 people lost their lives in that attack. And 240 people were taken hostage by Hamas. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, and Germany, consider Hamas a terrorist organization. Immediately after that, the Israeli forces started counter-attacks in Gaza. More than 14,000 people lost their lives in the attack that lasted for more than a month and a half. Most of them are children and women. More than 1 million Palestinians have become refugees. The besieged Gaza is facing an extreme humanitarian crisis.
