The actress’ daughter Navin confirmed the news of Mita Chowdhury’s death on Facebook and said that the actress was suffering from cancer.
Another famous actress and Member of Parliament Subarna Mustafa confirmed the death in the media. Reporting the death of Mita Chowdhury on her verified Facebook account, Subarna Mustafa shared a picture together stating that she worked with Mita Chowdhury in her first TV drama ‘Baraf Gala Nadi’.
This popular dramatist of the seventies and eighties was in exile for a long time. Returning to the country in 2006, he started acting in drama again. Not only TV dramas but also involved himself in stage productions like Souchna and Good Night Ma. In addition to acting, Mita Chowdhury created the manuscript of Good Night Mar, based on American playwright Marsha Norman’s ‘Night Mother’.
