City Reporter: Chittagong Development Authority’s 519-plot mega project Karnaphuli Bamti Housing is about to end 33 years of irony with fresh water shortage. With the sincere initiative of the newly appointed CDA chairman, brave freedom fighter Mohammad Yunus, a meeting was held with engineer, Wasar MD and plot owner leaders in his office throughout the day on Thursday (May 09) to end this crisis.
Wasar MD Fazlullah and other concerned have assured sincere cooperation in supplying water from Wasar Vandaljuri project to the said housing.
In an emergency meeting with the CDA Karnaphuli Plot Owners Welfare Association in the conference room of the CDA Chairman, the CDA Chairman said that this project is the most beautiful housing project in the country. If it is provided with water, electricity etc. it will be habitable and both CDA and public will benefit.
He said, WASA chairman has assured me full cooperation. If the plot owners also cooperate, the project which is lying face down will see success in a very short time, In-Sha-Allah.
At that time, when the leaders of the plot owners’ association reached a consensus with him, the CDA chairman said, “Then get ready, I will personally go and cut the soil in the project and start the work of this project and if possible, Bangabandhu Tanaya Sheikh Hasina, the shaper of development, will inaugurate the water supply in it, in-sha-Allah.” .
He assured to take necessary steps after investigating the complaint of not six crores of rupees in the name of cow market lease in the said housing and announced that future leases will be called under the supervision of CDA and the money will be spent on the development of the said project.
