Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Hajj program at Ascona Hajj Camp in the capital on Wednesday (May 8). He will officially announce the opening of the Hajj program at 1445 Hijri at 11 o’clock.
According to the information received from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister will also exchange greetings with the Haj pilgrims on the occasion.
Hajj flights with Bangladeshi pilgrims are scheduled to start tomorrow, Thursday. The first Hajj flight BG-3301 from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will depart for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at 7:20 a.m. with 419 passengers. On the same day at 1 p.m., a flight of Saudi Arabia’s Flynn Airlines is scheduled to leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Jeddah with Bangladeshi pilgrims.
The Holy Hajj can be held on June 16, subject to the sighting of the moon. More than 83 thousand pilgrims from Bangladesh will perform Hajj in 2024.
