The Crime Desk: Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force have deployed 1 lakh 59 thousand 874 members to maintain law and order in the first phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad elections to be held on May 8. They will work to ensure the security of polling stations and ballot boxes and to maintain order in voting. Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force said this in a press release on Monday, May 5.
It has been said that in the first phase, elections are going to be held in 10 thousand 605 polling stations in 141 upazilas in 59 districts of the country. And a total of 13 or more Ansar and VDP members are starting duty on Monday for the security of each polling station. Among them are six male and four female Ansar-VDP members led by a platoon commander (PC) and two assistant platoon commanders (APC). If the number of booths is more than six in any center, one additional Ansar-VDP member is deployed per booth. PCs and APCs (3) armed and Ansar-VDP members unarmed will be engaged in security and law and order at the polling station.
All of them will be deployed from May 6 to May 10. Every member of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force has been instructed from the headquarters to work as per the instructions of the Election Commission to present a free, fair, and acceptable upazila election to the nation.
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces deploy the maximum number of members in all national and local elections of the country as per the instructions of the government. 5 lakh, 17 thousand, and 143 members of the Ansar and Village Defense Forces were engaged to make the last 12th National Assembly elections free, fair, and peaceful.
