Dhaka Bureau: The UK’s Secretary of State for India and the Pacific, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, is coming to Bangladesh on a two-day visit today (May 7).
The UK High Commission in Dhaka said that his visit will strengthen the UK’s mutual cooperation with Bangladesh as well as the two countries’ modern economic, security, and immigration partnerships.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Dr. Anne-Marie will pay a courtesy call on Hasan Mahmud. The meeting will reportedly focus on migration cooperation, trade and economic relations, and cooperation with Rohingya refugees.
Besides, the British Foreign Minister will meet with business leaders, human rights activists, climate experts, civil society organizations, and political leaders.
State Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan visited Bangladesh in March last year.
