A program has been organized on this occasion in the Osmani Smriti Auditorium, Dhaka, on Tuesday morning, October 3, 2023. As the chief guest, His Excellency the President of Bangladesh, Md. Sahabuddin, will hand over golden crests, money, and certificates to those selected for the award. The Minister of Agriculture will be present as a special guest at the event. Md. Abdur Razzak MP, State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder MP, and FBCCI President Md. Mahbubul Alam Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun MP will preside over the program, and Zakia Sultana, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Industries, will deliver the welcome speech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and with the aim of recognizing the contribution of industrial entrepreneurs and institutions, creating incentives, and encouraging creativity, the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Award is being given for the second time by the Ministry of Industry. It is very important to recognize the contribution of the private sector in the creation of employment in the country, along with playing a role in saving foreign exchange by setting up industries in the private sector and producing export and import substitute products for the construction of industrially developed countries. One of the aims of this award is to commemorate and appreciate the contribution that started industrialization in the country through Bangabandhu&#8217;s industrial plan and to sustain the progress of industrialization by giving recognition to the concerned individuals or institutions for making important contributions to the industrialization of Bangladesh. Along with setting up environment-friendly industries in the private sector, creating jobs and encouraging investment, diversification of products, production of import substitute products, encouraging creativity by producing technology-based and quality products according to the needs of the national and international markets, and encouraging entrepreneurs to meet domestic needs and increase exports, The introduction of this award in the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu will help in creating and developing more creative entrepreneurs in the journey of industrialization in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Annual turnover, production of import substitute products, use of local raw materials, increase in employment, fulfillment of social responsibility, planned and efficient use of land, environmenlandprotection, etc. have been considered. The nomination of industrial entrepreneurs or industrial institutions for the award requires fulfillment of certain qualifications and conditions. Among them, industrial entrepreneurs and industrial organizations should be established in Bangladesh. The overall contribution of the applicant industrialist or entrepreneur in the field of industry should be satisfactory and should make an effective contribution to meet the important needs of the country, produce import substitutes or export-oriented products, and create employment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Besides, regular taxes have to be paid. If an entrepreneur or owner of an industrial establishment has been sentenced for a period of 6 months or more by any tribunal or court for a criminal offense and a minimum of 2 years have not elapsed after serving the punishment, or if any such case is pending against him in any tribunal or court, that industrial entrepreneur or industrial establishment was not considered for nomination. Loan defaulters, government bill defaulters, tax defaulters, money launderers, illegal occupants of government places, and environmentally polluting industrial entrepreneurs and industrial establishments are also not considered for this prestigious award. Once an organization is selected for the award to encourage entrepreneurship, its application for the next three years in the same category will not be considered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Among the 12 industrial establishments selected by the Ministry of Industry, 03 are in the large industrial category, 02 are in the medium industrial category, 03 are in the small industrial category, 01 are in the micro industrial category, 01 are in the cottage industrial category, and 02 are in the hi-tech industrial category. No organization was nominated in the handicrafts category this year.<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>\u00a0<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>Runner Automobiles Ltd., Jaber &amp; Jobair Fabrics Ltd. 2nd, and BSRM Steels Ltd. 3rd in the large industry category. 1st in the medium industry category was Nita Company Ltd.; 2nd was Noman Terry Towel Mills Ltd.; 1st in the small scale industry category was Hazrat Amanat Shah Spinning Mills Ltd.; 2nd was Basumati Distribution Ltd.; and 3rd was Techno Media Ltd. Only one company, Green Genesis Engineering Ltd., has been selected in the microindustry category. Samsunnahar Textile Mills was selected as the only company in the cottage industry category, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. was 1st in the hi-tech industry category, and Super Star Electrical Accessories Ltd. was 2nd.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">1st prize and 25 grams of gold-plated crest; 2nd prize of 20 grams and 20 grams of gold; and 3rd prize of 1 lakh and 15 grams of gold. Gold crests are made of 18-carat-quality gold.
