A producer applies to the copyright office for his intellectual property. His intellectual property is moving to digital platforms before he is certified. Commercially promoting on Facebook and YouTube with fake certificates. Such incidents are happening now. Producers and directors are suffering financial losses due to this.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The directors and producers alleged that a class of corrupt officials of the copyright office were giving one&#8217;s copyright certificate to another through bribery. After submitting the document to get the intellectual property, some officials of the copyright office sell it to another person with a fake certificate. One is the producer of the film, but another is earning from his film on digital platforms. But the producer or director of that movie, play, song, video document, or any other video content does not know about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Recently, a few producers have complained to the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture in the name of Abdul Ghaffar, Assistant Programmer of the Copyright Office and Stenographer and Computer Operator at ANM Shahjahan. In view of the complaint, the Ministry of Culture has started an investigation against two officials of the institution. The ministry questioned them last Thursday. An official of the Ministry of Culture said that various complaints have been filed against them, including recruitment and tender trade, fake certificate trade, and stealing large sums of money from service users who come to the office. The allegations are being investigated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">It is alleged that the price of ten computer mice in 2021 will be 60 thousand taka. Stenographer-cum-computer operator ANM Shahjahan Bhuiyan purchased the copyright office equipment from a paper company named Greenfield Corporation. It is alleged that he embezzled money here by showing fake bills. Later, when the matter came to the notice of the then Registrar of Copyright Office, Zafar Reza Chowdhury, he wrote a letter to Abdul Ghaffar and Shahjahan Bhuiyan to resolve the matter in writing. Later, when Zafar Reza was transferred, the matter remained the same.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Shahjahan bought a flat worth crores of rupees in Khilgaon, the capital of Bhuiyan. There are savings certificates worth around Tk 30 lakhs. Similarly, another official, Abdul Ghaffar, bought land in Aminbazar and built a three-story house. The anti-corruption commission has also filed a complaint against these two officers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Film Producers Association leader Khorshed Alam Khosru said a class of corrupt officials and employees of the copyright office is giving one person&#8217;s copyright certificate to another. They are earning money by posting hundreds of pictures on digital platforms (YouTube, Facebook, and various social media). But the main producers and directors of the movie do not know this. The same happened to hundreds of films, including the Salman Shah-Shabnoor starrer Bikshov, Ae Man Tude Dim, Bhoor, and Kazi Hayat&#8217;s History. Year after year, they have been releasing movies on YouTube with fake certificates and making millions of rupees. Producers or manufacturers are not getting anything from this.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Regarding the complaints, Assistant Programmer Abdul Ghaffar said that the senior officers of the Copyright Office are investigating the issues on which the complaints have been made. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on this matter now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Another officer, stenographer-cum-computer operator ANM Shahjahan Bhuiyan, said that a departmental inquiry is being conducted against him. None of these allegations are true. Some of the office colleagues have made these false allegations. The Registrar of Copyright Office (Additional Secretary), Md. Daud Mia, said, I have come to know about this. The Ministry of Culture is investigating this. Details can be given after the investigation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Note that the Copyright Office registers literary works, dramatic works, musical works, recorded works, artistic works, film works, radio broadcasts, television broadcasts, computer software works, etc. Financial rights to intellectual property are transferable.
