{"id":8842,"date":"2023-09-05T04:55:37","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:55:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8842"},"modified":"2023-09-05T04:55:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:55:37","slug":"151-bangladeshis-trapped-in-libya-have-returned-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8842\/","title":{"rendered":"151 Bangladeshis trapped in Libya have returned home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> 151 Bangladeshis stranded in Libya have returned home.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The plane carrying them landed at Shahjalal International Airport at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday (September 5).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya has arranged for the rescue of Bangladeshi migrants in danger in different parts of Libya from the detention center.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Bangladesh&#8217;s Ambassador to Libya, Major General Abul Hasan Mohammad Khairul Bashar, bid farewell to the Bangladeshi migrants at Benina Airport in Benghazi.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">At the Libyan airport, he informed them about the various steps taken by the Bangladesh government for the welfare of expatriates.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In particular, he informed them about the Bangladesh government&#8217;s protection of expatriates&#8217; rights, providing incentives for sending remittances through legal channels, and bringing expatriates under the universal pension.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Besides, the ambassador highlighted the various dangerous aspects of illegal immigration and advised them to avoid such a path in the future.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He also requested that these Bangladeshis participate in the awareness campaign to prevent illegal immigration back home.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">On July 31, 131 Bangladeshis detained in the detention center in Tripoli, the capital of Libya, were freed and sent to the country with the help of IOM.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka Bureau: 151 Bangladeshis stranded in Libya have returned home.
