{"id":8833,"date":"2023-09-05T04:34:43","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:34:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8833"},"modified":"2023-09-05T04:34:43","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:34:43","slug":"bangladesh-us-security-dialogue-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8833\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangladesh-US security dialogue today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> The 9th Bilateral Security Dialogue between Bangladesh and the US is being held in Dhaka today.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Deputy Assistant Minister of Political-Military Affairs Bureau Mira Reznik came to Dhaka on Monday (September 4) to lead the US delegation in this dialogue.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Bangladesh delegation in the dialogue will be led by Masudur Alam, Director General of the North America Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Reznik&#8217;s arrival in Dhaka was confirmed by the US Embassy in Dhaka in a message on X (former Twitter).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In that message, Mira Reznik, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs of the United States, is welcome.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He has come to Dhaka for the US-Bangladesh bilateral security dialogue.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The US delegation will discuss regional development, human rights, security assistance, and counterterrorism. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The US and Bangladesh have a strong security partnership, a US Embassy statement said.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Indo-Pacific region shares much.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Both countries aim to build a free, open, peaceful, and secure Indo-Pacific.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">To achieve this mutual goal, we hold various dialogues throughout the year.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The security dialogue is being held after the bilateral defense dialogue on August 23 and 24 in Dhaka.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The dialogue will discuss the relationship between the two countries&#8217; militaries, military education, peacekeeping operations, upcoming military exercises, and disaster response exercises in the coming year.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The eighth security dialogue between the two countries was held in April 2022.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The dialogue held in Washington, DC, was led by Foreign Secretary Masoud Bin Momen and US Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie Jenkins.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka Bureau: The 9th Bilateral Security Dialogue between Bangladesh and the US is being held in Dhaka today.
