{"id":8830,"date":"2023-09-05T04:23:08","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8830"},"modified":"2023-09-05T04:23:08","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:23:08","slug":"who-regional-director-is-saima-wazed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8830\/","title":{"rendered":"WHO Regional Director is Saima Wazed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> The government has nominated Saima Wazed, the granddaughter of Bangabandhu, as the Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Southeast Asia.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">SEARA is one of six regional offices of the World Health Organization, composed of representatives of member countries.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Khabar bus.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In this context, Saima Wazed said, I feel very honored that the Bangladesh government has nominated me as the Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">If elected, he plans to work closely with member states to implement his vision in public health policy and practice in the region, he said.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He said, &#8220;I believe in working in partnership and am keen to listen to the community and create lasting solutions that work on the ground.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">This has characterized my work to date and is what I hope to bring to this role.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Saima Wazed Hossain, the daughter of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, graduated in psychology from Barry University in the United States in 1997 and received a master&#8217;s degree in clinical psychology in 2002.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In 2004, he obtained a specialist degree in school psychology.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">While studying at Barry University, she researched the development of women in Bangladesh.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">His research work on this subject was recognized as the best scientific presentation by the Florida Academy of Science.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Saima Wazed has been working on autism and neurological disorders in children since 2008.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He organized the first South Asian Conference on Autism in Dhaka in 2011.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Since 2013, he has been working as an expert consultant on mental health at the World Health Organization.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In recognition of this, he was awarded the 2014 WHO Excellence Award by the World Organization.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka Bureau: The government has nominated Saima Wazed, the granddaughter of Bangabandhu, as the Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Southeast Asia.
