{"id":8827,"date":"2023-09-05T04:13:35","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:13:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8827"},"modified":"2023-09-05T04:13:35","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T04:13:35","slug":"today-is-the-martyrdom-anniversary-of-birshrestha-noor-mohammad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8827\/","title":{"rendered":"Today is the martyrdom anniversary of Birshrestha Noor Mohammad."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> Today is the 52nd martyrdom anniversary of Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Sheikh.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">BGB, upazila administration, government Birshrest Noor Mohammad College, Upazila Freedom Fighters Sangsad, and various educational institutions will hold various programs on the occasion of Tuesday (September 5) at Noor Mohammad Memorial in Kashipur, Sharsha.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The program includes a guard of honor in honor of the hero, paying tributes at the memorial, doa-milad mahfil, and a discussion meeting for his soul.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">On this day in 1971, this hero was martyred in the frontal battle with the Pakistani invading forces in Gowalhati village, Jessore.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He was buried in Kashipur village, Sharsha upazila, of Jessore.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In recognition of his contribution to the liberation war, he was given the title of &#8216;Bir Shrestha&#8217;.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Noor Mohammad Sheikh was born on February 26, 1936, in Mahishkhola (now Noor Mohammadnagar) village of Narail Sadar Upazila.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In his career, Noor Mohammad Sheikh joined the then East Pakistan Rifles (EPR) on March 14, 1959, which is now known as the Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB).<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He was transferred to the Jessore sector on July 10, 1970, after serving at the Dinajpur border for a long time.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He was later promoted to Lance Naik.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In 1971, he took part in the liberation war in Sector 8, which comprises the Jessore region.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">On September 5, 1971, he was martyred in the face-off with the Pakistani invading forces in Gowalhati village, Jessore.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka Bureau: Today is the 52nd martyrdom anniversary of Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Sheikh.
