{"id":8821,"date":"2023-09-05T03:53:57","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T03:53:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8821"},"modified":"2023-09-05T03:53:57","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T03:53:57","slug":"myanmar-will-soon-take-back-three-thousand-rohingya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8821\/","title":{"rendered":"Myanmar will soon take back three thousand Rohingya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>The Crime Desk:<\/strong> Myanmar has agreed to repatriate some Rohingyas soon under the pilot project.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In the first batch, the country wants to start repatriating 3,000 verified Rohingya. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">This decision was taken at the Bangladesh-Myanmar director general meeting held on Monday (September 4) in Nay Pyi Taw.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">A diplomat who was present at the meeting said that there was a good discussion with Myanmar.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">They want to start repatriation as soon as possible.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It has been decided that the repatriation process will begin with three thousand registered Rohingyas in the first phase.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It can be as fast as possible.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">However, when exactly this repatriation will start, it cannot be said.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">They can take back 5,000 Rohingya in the second phase and 7,000 in the next phase.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">However, it is not right to say for sure that they will definitely take back this number of Rohingyas.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Mentioning that the morale of the Rohingyas should be raised before the repatriation starts, the diplomat said that those who will be repatriated should have their morale raised first.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Then those among them who want to go voluntarily will be sent.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We want sustainable repatriation.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">As if the Rohingyas continue to go to the next step after the first step.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">A delegation from Myanmar is scheduled to come to Cox&#8217;s Bazar to work on boosting the morale of the Rohingya.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In the meeting, the director general of the Myanmar department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Md.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Mainul Kabir, led from Dhaka.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">On the other hand, the Naypyidaw delegation was led by AUNGK, Director General of Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Bangladesh signed an agreement with Myanmar on repatriation in November 2017 on behalf of China.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In November 2018, an initiative was taken to start the process of repatriating Rohingyas based on a bilateral agreement with Myanmar.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">But that initiative failed.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Crime Desk: Myanmar has agreed to repatriate some Rohingyas soon under the pilot project.
