{"id":8815,"date":"2023-09-05T03:38:56","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T03:38:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8815"},"modified":"2023-09-05T03:38:56","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T03:38:56","slug":"the-production-of-the-kaptai-water-power-plant-is-203-mw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8815\/","title":{"rendered":"The production of the Kaptai Water Power Plant is 203 MW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Rangamati Correspondent:<\/strong> Heavy rains have been lashing Kaptai Lake and surrounding areas in Rangamati intermittently throughout the week.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">As a result, the water level of the Kaptai lake has increased due to the hill slopes coming down from upstream, and the production of the Kaptai water power plant has increased to 203 MW.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Which is the highest production of hydropower plants in the current year.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Engineer ATM Abduzzaheh, manager of the water power plant, said that 203 megawatts of electricity have been produced from the five units of this power plant since 9:30 a.m. on Monday<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">and are being supplied to the national grid.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He also said that according to the rule curve (measurement of water), the water level in Kaptai Lake is expected to be 99.69 feet above mean sea level (MSL) until 9:30 a.m. on Monday.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">But Kaptai Lake currently has a water level of 105.88 feet MSL.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The water holding capacity of Kaptai Lake is 109 feet MSL.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">If the amount of water in Kaptai Lake increases, there is a possibility of increasing power generation.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It should be noted that the maximum power generation of 230 megawatts is possible from the five units of the Kaptai Karnaphuli hydropower plant.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rangamati Correspondent: Heavy rains have been lashing Kaptai Lake and surrounding areas in Rangamati intermittently throughout the week.
