{"id":8661,"date":"2023-08-31T08:32:40","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T08:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8661"},"modified":"2023-08-31T08:32:40","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T08:32:40","slug":"bad-days-will-come-if-you-lose-faith-in-the-judiciary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8661\/","title":{"rendered":"Bad days will come if you lose faith in the judiciary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> 23rd The Chief Justice of the country, Hasan Faiz Siddiqui, has commented that the nation will have to wait for bad days if they lose faith in the judiciary.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He said this in his farewell speech on the last working day of judicial life on Thursday (August 31).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Chief Justice said that people may lose faith in the administration&#8217;s law department.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">But if you lose faith in the judiciary, that nation will have to wait for bad times. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He also said that the judiciary is the protector of the people&#8217;s fundamental rights. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Defender of the Constitution <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">So judges should be brave and fair.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">If the judiciary fails or backs away from impartial application of the law, the state and its citizens are bound to suffer.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Judiciary is the guardian of the fundamental rights of the people, besides protecting the supremacy of the Constitution.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">An independent judiciary is essential for the development of a truly participatory democracy, the preservation of the rule of law, and the establishment of rights and social justice for the weaker sections of society.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Calling upon the judiciary to be free from political influence, the outgoing Chief Justice said that it is the responsibility of judges, lawyers, and every responsible citizen of the state to protect the judiciary from social, economic, and political influence.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Every citizen will have to wait for doomsday if we, you, fail to fulfill that duty.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It does not augur well for the judiciary when political divisions cross the street and run towards the court.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We have to remember that the divisions and differences of lawyers and their reactions damage the judiciary.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The judiciary is comfortable with implementing political ideology politically and keeping the judiciary at a safe distance.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">As the bearer and bearer of the great thought and welfare spirit with which our Constitution has been framed, we all have a great national responsibility to ensure that all laws and legal proceedings in the country reflect the constitutional spirit.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">People want peace and tranquility, but we still have a long way to go for complete peace.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We need to straighten the crooked areas.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Although he is scheduled to retire on September 25 at the end of his long judicial career, this is the last day of his judicial career as the Supreme Court is on vacation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">On the last working day of the Chief Justice, the Attorney General&#8217;s Office and the Supreme Court Lawyers&#8217; Association gave him a farewell reception in Court Room No. 1 of the Appellate Division.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Incidentally, on December 31, 2021, President Md. administered the oath to Justice Hassan Faiz Siddiqui as the Chief Justice,<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Abdul Hamid.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He will complete 67 years on September 25.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">So according to the constitution, he is supposed to retire on that day.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui was born on September 26, 1956, in Kushtia.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">After completing his studies, he joined the District Court as a lawyer on August 21, 1981.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He was admitted as an advocate of the High Court on September 4, 1983, and the Appellate Division on May 27, 1999.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Hasan Faiz Siddiqui was a legal adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Khulna City Corporation (KHUSIK), Kushtia Municipality, and Jalalabad Gas Transmission Company.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He was the Additional Attorney General of Bangladesh.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui was appointed to the High Court Division on March 25, 2009, and to the Appellate Division on March 31, 2013.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Apart from this, he has been serving as the chairman of the Judicial Service Commission since April 30, 2015.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka Bureau: 23rd The Chief Justice of the country, Hasan Faiz Siddiqui, has commented that the nation will have to wait for bad days if they lose faith in the judiciary.
