{"id":8548,"date":"2023-08-27T09:22:11","date_gmt":"2023-08-27T09:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8548"},"modified":"2023-08-27T09:22:11","modified_gmt":"2023-08-27T09:22:11","slug":"deputy-director-of-btrc-arrested-for-recording-rape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8548\/","title":{"rendered":"Deputy Director of BTRC arrested for recording rape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> Deputy Director of BTRC Sanjib Kumar Singh has been arrested by Dhanmondi police station on charges of rape, cheating, and torture for secretly recording a video after establishing a relationship with a woman in secret.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The police said that videos and pictures of intimate moments were recovered from Sanjib&#8217;s mobile phone.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">On Sunday (August 27), Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Parvez Islam confirmed this information.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He said that a woman filed a case against Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Deputy Director Sanjib Kumar Singh under the Women and Child Torture Suppression Act at Dhanmondi police station last Friday.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Sanjib was arrested that day.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He was sent to the court on Saturday, and a remand application was made.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The court allowed him to be interrogated for one day at the jail gate.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It is mentioned in the complaint that the woman met Sanjib in 2013.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Then Sanjib hid his identity.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Later, she developed a love relationship with him.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">But after knowing Sanjib&#8217;s real identity, he did not want to take the relationship any further.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">But Sanjib promises her marriage.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In 2014, Sanjeev took her to a house, raped her, and recorded the video.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He raped her for six to seven years, threatening to spread the video.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Sanjib recorded the video of these incidents.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He also cheats by sending them to the mobile phones of family members.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In her statement, the victim woman said that on August 15, Sanjib again called her to her Dhanmondi residence and raped her, threatening to kill her.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">At that time, he was physically tortured and detained at home.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Later, a friend of Sanjeeb went to see his condition and wanted to know what had happened.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">After explaining the details, Sanjib&#8217;s friend took him home.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka Bureau: Deputy Director of BTRC Sanjib Kumar Singh has been arrested by Dhanmondi police station on charges of rape, cheating, and torture for secretly recording a video after establishing a relationship with a woman in secret.
