{"id":8356,"date":"2023-08-08T05:35:52","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T05:35:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8356"},"modified":"2023-08-08T05:35:52","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T05:35:52","slug":"traffic-stop-on-the-chittagong-coxs-bazar-route","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8356\/","title":{"rendered":"Traffic stop on the Chittagong-Cox&#8217;s Bazar route"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Chittagong South District Correspondent:<\/strong> Due to waterlogging on Chandanish Road, the Chittagong-Cox&#8217;s Bazar route is closed.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Due to continuous heavy rains and water flowing down from the hills upstream in the Matamuhuri River, traffic has stopped in Lama in Bandarban, Chakria in Cox&#8217;s Bazar, and Pekua.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Traffic on that route has been closed since Tuesday morning (August 8). <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Apart from this, internal roads are submerged under several feet of water.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Government and private offices and educational institutions have become waterlogged.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">People in the area are facing a severe shortage of food and clean water due to not being able to cook in this situation.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It is known that on Tuesday morning, Toitumbur was seen in the water on the road in the Chandnaish area.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Chittagong-Cox&#8217;s Bazar road is under water.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Road traffic has already become unsafe.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Due to this, the authorities have stopped traffic on the Chittagong-Cox&#8217;s Bazar road.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Meanwhile, Kakara, Surajpur-Manikpur, Laksharchar, Koyarbil, Baraitli, Harbang, Purba Bara Beola, BMchar, Konakhali, Dhemushia, Paschim Bara Beola, Saharbil, Chiringa, Fansiakhali, Dulahazara, Khutakhali, and Pekua Sadar, Rajakhali, Ujantia, and Chakaria of Chakaria upazila.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Most of the municipality is currently under 8\u201310 feet of water.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">At least 550,000 people in more than three hundred villages in these areas have become waterlogged.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">There is a shortage of food and clean water, from house to house.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Rural communication systems are being disrupted due to landslides in these hilly areas.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It may be noted that the Patenga Meteorological Office recorded 216.4 millimeters of rainfall in the previous 24 hours until 3 p.m. on Monday (August 7).<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">At this time, the Ambagan Meteorological Office recorded 208.4 millimeters of rainfall.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chittagong South District Correspondent: Due to waterlogging on Chandanish Road, the Chittagong-Cox&#8217;s Bazar route is closed.
