Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> The BNP’s two-day padayatra program has ended across the country as part of a one-phase movement to bring down the government.<\/span><\/span> But the leaders of the party could not keep their promise to hold peaceful meetings and marches.<\/span><\/span> On the second day of the march, after losing their lives in clashes in various parts of the country, including the capital, on Tuesday, they took to the streets with sticks in their hands on Wednesday.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

It is not the case that only the workers were in a desperate position.<\/span><\/span> Leaders were also warned not to spare anyone in their speeches. <\/span><\/span>In a short rally in Abdullahpur before the start of the march, the leaders threatened that the day of giving up is over; now is Khaleda Zia’s Bangladesh.<\/span><\/span> No one else can be exempted.<\/span><\/span> Claims will be taken even with life.<\/span><\/span> And yesterday, Thursday, in front of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan, they warned the government to get their demands through agitation and struggle in a short rally before the mourning rally.<\/span><\/span> These statements of theirs show that even though they talk about peaceful meetings and marches, their internal plans are deadly.<\/span><\/span> The party wants to realize its demands through conflict.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

However, the government is taking a strict stand against the destructive activities of this opposition party in Rajpath.<\/span><\/span> Law and order forces have been ordered to have zero tolerance in this regard.<\/span><\/span> The ruling Awami League will also be on the streets with the peace rally.<\/span><\/span> The rulers are determined to prevent all kinds of conflict before the elections.<\/span><\/span> The policymakers of the government said that if anyone in the government is involved in the conflict, he will not be exempt.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They will be brought under the law and prosecuted quickly.<\/span><\/span> The accused have already been arrested in connection with the attack on independent candidate Ashraful Alam, alias Hero Alam, in the Dhaka-17 by-election.<\/span><\/span> A case has also been registered regarding the death of Krishak Dal leader Sajeev in a clash in Lakshmipur on Tuesday afternoon during the BNP’s march.<\/span><\/span> Meanwhile, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed that one person was killed and at least 3,000 activists were injured in the two-day march program.<\/span><\/span> He blamed the government and the ruling Awami League for these incidents.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

However, the government says that Zia’s party has chosen the politics of conspiracy and assassination like other times to thwart the elections.<\/span><\/span> BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police in Lakshmipur district town.<\/span><\/span> A farmer’s party worker was killed there.<\/span><\/span> More than 400 people, including policemen and journalists, were injured in the incidents of obstruction, attacks, and clashes in the BNP’s march in six other districts.<\/span><\/span> There have been sporadic clashes in the capital over stone-pelting incidents at the party’s march.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On the second day of the padayatra yesterday, there were repeated attacks and clashes between BNP and Awami League leaders and activists in Chittagong and Dinajpur.<\/span><\/span> Candidate of the Awami League <\/span><\/span>The election office of Mohiuddin Bachchu was vandalized.<\/span><\/span> At that time, they vandalized the office with sticks and threw stones at nearby buildings.<\/span><\/span> Later, they also attacked the vehicles plying on that road.<\/span><\/span> Several cars were vandalized by BNP activists.<\/span><\/span> In protest of this attack, the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League-Youth League vandalized outside the BNP office in Nasimon Bhawan and set fire to the banner festoon after evening.<\/span><\/span> Concerns are increasing in the minds of ordinary citizens about the opposing positions of the two parties in the upcoming elections.<\/span><\/span> Experts say if the situation is not brought under control now, the country may face a terrible danger.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon her countrymen to protect the country from the hands of the BNP-Jamaat in such a situation.<\/span><\/span> Referring to the BNP as a terrorist group, Sheikh Hasina said the government will not stop the political program of the BNP-Jamaat.<\/span><\/span> But they will not be exempt if any destructive activities are repeated.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The organizing secretary of the party, Ahmad Hossain, told the media that we are carrying out a peace procession.<\/span><\/span> We are always against violence.<\/span><\/span> The Awami League is in the field alongside the government and law enforcement forces to protect the lives and property of the people in fear that the BNP may commit violence.<\/span><\/span> Meanwhile, in the last six months, no major attacks or clashes occurred during the simultaneous movement of the BNP alliance.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Even on July 12, the BNP held a rally in Dhaka’s Nayapaltan and announced a one-phase movement program.
