{"id":8084,"date":"2023-07-20T07:46:19","date_gmt":"2023-07-20T07:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=8084"},"modified":"2023-07-20T07:46:19","modified_gmt":"2023-07-20T07:46:19","slug":"crimes-against-humanity-four-people-were-hanged-including-mannan-of-pirojpur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/8084\/","title":{"rendered":"Crimes against humanity: Four people were hanged, including Mannan of Pirojpur"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"lRu31\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Pirojpur Correspondent:<\/strong> The International Criminal Tribunal has awarded the death sentence to four people, including Abdul Mannan Howladar of Bhandari of Pirojpur, in the case of crimes against humanity during the Great War of Independence.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"lRu31\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Chairman of the Tribunal <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The three-member International Criminal Tribunal, headed by Shahinur Islam, gave its verdict on Thursday (July 20).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Advocate Gazi MH Tamim was present on behalf of the accused.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Prosecutor Sahidur Rahman was for the state.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Prosecutor Rezia Sultana Chaman was with him.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"lRu31\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The four convicts sentenced to death are Abdul Mannan Howladar, alias A., of Hetalia area of Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Mannan dealer alias Mannaf, Ashrab Ali alias Ashraf Ali Howladar of the same area, Charkhali area Md.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Maharaj Howlader alias Hatkata Maharaj (on bail), and Nurul Amin Howlader (absconding).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Charges of illegal detention, torture, abduction, looting, arson, rape, murder, and genocide have been filed against the accused.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">According to the court, they were ordered to be punished as it was proved beyond doubt that 24 people were killed, 1 person was raped, 3 people and a woman were seriously injured by the accused, and 2 people died while undergoing treatment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"lRu31\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The four convicted accused were supporters of the Convention Muslim League during the liberation war, but now they are supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"UdTY9 WdefRb\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-location=\"2\">\n<div class=\"kO6q6e\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pirojpur Correspondent: The International Criminal Tribunal has awarded the death sentence to four people, including Abdul Mannan Howladar of Bhandari of Pirojpur, in the case of crimes against humanity during the Great War of Independence.
