{"id":7886,"date":"2023-07-05T06:36:15","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T06:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=7886"},"modified":"2023-07-05T06:36:15","modified_gmt":"2023-07-05T06:36:15","slug":"teesta-water-is-3-cm-above-danger-level","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/7886\/","title":{"rendered":"Teesta water is 3 cm above danger level"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>The Crime Desk:<\/strong> The water in Teesta has again crossed the limit due to the hill slope and continuous rain for several days.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Water Development Board said that 44 sluices in Teesta Barrage have been opened for water control.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">At 6 a.m. on Wednesday (July 5), Dalia Point of Teesta Barrage recorded a water flow of 52.18 cm.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Which is flowing 10.3 cm above the danger zone.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The normal water flow of the Teesta River is 52.15 centimeters per second. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">An official of the Water Development Board said that the Teesta water has been increasing and decreasing since the beginning of June.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Last Monday (June 19), the Teesta water crossed the limit.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">After that, on Tuesday (June 20), the water started to decrease and become normal, but today it has increased again.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It is known that several areas under the Teesta river in Dimla upazila, along with Kaliganj, Jharsinghesar, Khagarchar, Juar char, Banglapara, Uttara Kharibari, Baishpukur, and Jaldhaka upazila&#8217;s forest char, Bhavnchur, and Dauabagri, have been flooded.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">However, despite the rise in water, no major damage was reported.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Meanwhile, the upazila administration has warned the locals through the village police to reduce the damage caused by the flood.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Erosion has started in some rivers.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Belayet Hossain said that according to the information of the Water Development Board, it was already predicted that the water level would exceed the 24-hour water limit due to the rise of water in Domohani upstream.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">For this, we have warned the locals with the help of the local public representatives and village police.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We are making continuous efforts to deal with the floods.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Dalia Water Development Board Executive Engineer Asfauddaula said that the water started rising at night.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">52.18 cm is flowing after crossing the cyclone at 6 a.m. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The water will decrease at noon.
