{"id":7784,"date":"2023-06-25T04:17:15","date_gmt":"2023-06-25T04:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=7784"},"modified":"2023-06-25T04:17:15","modified_gmt":"2023-06-25T04:17:15","slug":"the-first-unit-of-the-payra-thermal-power-plant-is-operational","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/7784\/","title":{"rendered":"The first unit of the Payra thermal power plant is operational"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>The Crime Desk:<\/strong> 20 days after the arrival of coal in the country, the first unit of Payra, the country&#8217;s largest power plant, became operational in the early hours of Sunday (June 25).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Its second unit will be launched on July 2.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Authorities have confirmed that the power plant resumed production in the early hours of Sunday (June 25).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Last Thursday (June 22) night, a coal-carrying ship named MV Athena arrived at Payra port from Balikpanan port in Indonesia with 41 thousand 207 tons of coal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It takes two days to empty the coal.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The largest power plant in the country returned to production after the release.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The vessel was brought to the jetty from the inner anchorage of Payara Port at 3 p.m. on Friday (June 23).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Golam Rabbani, the pilot of Payra Port, brought the ship to the jetty of the power plant.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Saturday (June 24) early morning, the coal discharge operation is going on at a fast pace.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The authority started power generation for one unit (660 MW) with this coal early on Sunday morning.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Shah Abdul Haseeb, supervising engineer at Payra thermal power station, said that the ship MV Athena arrived at Payra port 10 days after leaving Indonesia with a load of coal.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Besides, another ship named MV Pavo Brave is scheduled to arrive on July 1 with 36 thousand 570 metric tons of coal.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Earlier, on June 5, due to a lack of coal, the Payra thermal power plant&#8217;s power production was completely stopped.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The entire country is affected by load shedding.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Crime Desk: 20 days after the arrival of coal in the country, the first unit of Payra, the country&#8217;s largest power plant, became operational in the early hours of Sunday (June 25).
