A press release of the National Parliament Secretariat has informed us that the Speaker of the National Parliament will be at 5 p.m. today. The session will begin under the chairmanship of Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">President Mohammad Shahabuddin convened the 23rd session of Parliament under the powers given to him under Article 72 Clause 1\u00a0 of the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will present the national budget for the next financial year on June 1. The proposed budget is expected to be passed in Parliament on June 25.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">An official of the Ministry of Finance said that the possible budget size will be Tk 761,785 crore in order to control inflation and maintain a high GDP growth rate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The government is currently targeting a growth rate of 7.5 percent in the next fiscal year, with inflation at around 6.5 percent.
