Like other countries of the world, the day will be celebrated with due dignity in Bangladesh. The outstanding contribution of peacekeepers from all countries in the world participating in UN peacekeeping operations will be remembered with deep respect on this day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">On the occasion of the day, the program of the day will begin in the morning with the &#8216;Peacekeeper Run-2023&#8217; in memory of the peacekeepers. At 11:00 a.m., in the program organized at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center, a felicitation for the relatives of martyred and injured peacekeepers and a special presentation on UN peacekeeping operations were organized. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the reception at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center as the chief guest. Cabinet members, ambassadors and high commissioners of various countries, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, three army chiefs, members of Parliament, the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Department, the Inspector General of Police, and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be present on the occasion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">According to ISPR, Bangladeshi peacekeepers have successfully completed 63 UN missions in 40 countries around the world in the history of peacekeeping for four decades. Currently, 7,436 Bangladeshi peacekeepers are engaged in UN peacekeeping missions and activities in 14 countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Police Headquarters AIG (Media) Manzoor Ahmed said that Bangladesh Police&#8217;s march to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission started in 1989 through the Namibia Mission, bearing in mind Bangabandhu&#8217;s commitment to the welfare of humanity and the establishment of peace. Since then, 21 thousand 284 peacekeepers of the Bangladesh Police have served professionally in 23 missions in 21 countries. The police have a glorious role and unique contribution in UN peacekeeping operations, which has enhanced the image and prestige of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Police is committed to establishing world peace by participating in UN peacekeeping operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">At present, 512 peacekeepers of the Bangladesh Police are deployed in seven countries: the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Cyprus, South Sudan, Central Africa, Libya, and Sudan. Since 2000, women police officers of the Bangladesh Police have been participating in UN peacekeeping operations. Currently, 157 women police peacekeepers from Bangladesh are engaged in UN peacekeeping operations.
