He said we have to change the banking culture through planning. Ethical practices should be implemented in the banking system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said this at the opening ceremony of the first digital transformation summit in the banking sector organized at the Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Wednesday (May 24). The Association of Bankers Bangladesh (ABB) organized the summit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said, &#8220;We have taken various steps to build a smart Bangladesh. Mobile financial services and Bangla Q are among them. With this, digital transformation has been added to the ABB initiative. We expect that by 2027, 75 percent of all transactions will be done digitally.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">However, the governor believes that bank defaults are the biggest headache for the current economy. He also said that there is no option to increase corporate governance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The governor said that we will soon launch a digital bank in the country. We are planning to launch an online, real-time credit rating system soon. We are very close to issuing national credit cards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Abdur Rauf Talukder said the most discussed issue in the banking sector now is good governance and bad loans. To solve this problem, we need to bring about a cultural change. Besides, ethics and training are needed in the banking system through education. So that any type of problem in the banking sector can be solved.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The central bank governor said, &#8220;We have successfully implemented the digital Bangladesh vision. Now we are taking steps to achieve the Smart Bangladesh vision. By 2027, we hope to have completed 75 percent of all cashless transactions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">ABB Chairman Salim RF Hossain said ABB&#8217;s Digital Transformation Summit will provide valuable insights into key trends to accelerate the growth of digital financial services in Bangladesh. It will analyze the strategies banks can take to navigate the rapid digital transformation and research the existing policy and regulatory frameworks affecting the financial services sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">It will also recommend the way forward to sector stakeholders, ecosystem enablers, and policymakers.
