Ruhul Amin:\u00a0<\/strong> The Kuki Chin National Front in Chittagong Hill Tracts is a terrorist separatist group abbreviated as &#8216;KNF&#8217; from the outskirts of Baghaichhari, Barkal, Jurachhari, Bilaichhari, Bandarban in the hill district of Rangamati through the Mro region of Chimbuk Hills to Ruma Rowangchhari, Thanchi, Lama and Alikadam, a fully autonomous separate state with 9 upazilas. Their purpose is to create.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KNF demands separate full autonomy of Chittagong Hill Tracts. Behind the rise of the Kuki Chin National Front is the Christian Bam community there. And Nathan Bom, the leader of the Bom community, is the head of this organization. Nathan Bome has been collecting money from various donors in the name of the NGO. Besides, huge amount of money has been taken from them for training and providing shelter to members of militant organizations. The organization has been working openly since the beginning to show the strength of their organization. This information is known from related sources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to sources, Nathan Bom collected money from different places and local and foreign donors using the name of backward community under the guise of Kuki Chin National Development Organization (KNDO) NGO. Besides, weapons used to come to them from India&#8217;s Mizoram and Myanmar. Those weapons were sold at high prices to the members of Jamaatul Ansar Phil Hindal Sharqiya, a new militant organization based in the hills. Apart from this, KNF members have taken 3 to 4 lakh taka per month since the beginning of 2021 for the training and accommodation of the members of this militant organization. They planned an armed movement to establish this Kuki Chin state through financial support and active participation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Various arms recovered and sold to Jamaat-ul-Ansar Phil Sharqiya and intelligence sources say that KNF was born in 2008 but the organization formed an armed group in 2016. Initially it was called Kuki Chin National Volunteers KNV. Currently, the name of this armed organization is Kuki Chin National Army (KNA).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Initially, they carried out peaceful programs and established relations with the &#8216;Chinese Kingdom&#8217; of Manipur in India and Burma. In the first batch, more than a hundred members were sent to Manipur for training. Then sent 100 people to Manipur, India, Karen and Kachin states of Burma for guerilla training. After training in 2019, they returned to Chittagong Hill Tracts. At first they are silent. After a few days they become active. They have all the terrible automatic weapons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sources also said that currently the armed wing of the organization has three to four thousand members. Those staying in Chittagong Hill Tracts and Mizoram. The training period for armed members of KNF is three months. One month of theoretical and physical training is given in Mizoram. The remaining two months were spent training with Myanmar separatist groups in combat against the Myanmar Army. Although they have a secret hideout in an area near Keokradong mountain in Ruma upazila of Bandarban district, most of the members are currently disguised in plain clothes awaiting central instructions. Even in the locality, sometimes they quickly return to their nests for a very short period of time. KNF consists of six small ethnic groups namely Bom, Pankhwa, Lusai, Khumi, Mro, Khiang. They consider themselves the original inhabitants of Chittagong Hill Tracts. At the same time they consider the Chakma, Marma and Tripura peoples to be of Burmese and Indian origin and foreign settlers. And that is why they have a hostile attitude towards armed groups like JSS and UPDF.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The KNF has repeatedly called on the international community to intervene and intervene in the implementation of the so-called &#8216;Cookie China State&#8217; of the Chittagong Hill Tracts in order to realize its demands. KNF urged the government to fulfill its demands. Otherwise, they have threatened to go into armed conflict to exact their demands. KNF is currently making its presence known on social media by regularly uploading various pictures and videos of their armed training. Although there are separatist armed groups of Chittagong Hill Tracts JSS (Janasanghati Samiti) and UPDF (United People&#8217;s Democratic Front), such armed groups as KNF are not seen to be declared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Various equipment of KNF during the training and stay in the mountains According to law enforcement sources, on December 02, 1997, the government signed the Mountain Peace Agreement with the aim of establishing peace in the mountains. However, the various criminal activities of five organizations namely JSS Mool, UPDF Mool, JSS Sanskar, UPDF Democratic and Mog Party in the hill districts have created unrest and tension in the hill areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Who is this Nathan Bom?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KNF President Nathan Bom passed his Master&#8217;s degree from Dhaka University&#8217;s Department of Fine Arts. He was an active member of the Dhaka Metropolitan Branch and Central Committee of Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PPC), the student body of JSS. He is one of the architects of the MN Larma sculpture near Terangi Square in Khagrachari. He is also the founder president of an NGO called Kuki Chin National Development Organization. Besides, he has published six books including the book &#8216;The Bomzhou&#8217; about the identity of Kuki Chin ethnic groups. For the first time from the Bam community, he participated as an independent candidate in the 2018 National Assembly elections. This Nathan Bam has now lost his life due to the ongoing operation of law and order forces in the mountains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>How the activities of KNF came forward<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On March 24, 2022, 6 members of the KNF were arrested by the country&#8217;s border guards from Parva in Longtlai district of Mizoram state near the tri-junction of Bilaichhari upazila of Rangamati. After this, the activities of KNF came into discussion. After the arrest, a letter in possession of the accused was recovered, including the seals of the President and Chief of Staff of the Kuki Chinese National Army. Later, on April 12, 2022, four more people were arrested.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What law enforcement forces say<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A number of KNF members arrested from Rangamati and Bandarban, Director of Law and Media Wing of RAB, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, told the media, &#8220;KNF has a hostile attitude towards armed groups like JSS and UPDF. This organization is working with the goal of creating autonomy and separate states in 9 upazilas of hilly areas. The KNF members are currently in hiding amid ongoing operations by law enforcement agencies. Apart from the hilly areas, we are conducting raids in different places to catch them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said, &#8220;KNF chief Nathan Bom was a student of Dhaka University. Shamin Mahfuz, one of the members of Jamaatul Ansar Phil Hindal Sharqiya was also a student of Dhaka University. Later, Shamin Mahfuz and Nathan Bom became friends at some point. Jamaatul Ansar Phil Hindal Sharqiya Amir Anisur Mahmud was taken to Nathan Bam by Shamim Mahfuz on the basis of this friendship. Amir Anisur Mahmud then told Nathan Bam that those who would come motivated by militancy, would be given three to four lakh taka per month for training and accommodation.
