Special Correspondent:<\/strong> There has been a dispute between the heirs of two brothers over only 2.50 acres of land in the Hindu neighborhood of Dakshin Brahmin Denga village of No. 1 Charati Union of Satkania Upazila. There is ongoing litigation between the heirs of the two brothers regarding the said land. Investigative report on why there is so much conflict and violence in this little land<\/p>\n

The heirs of Manindra Vikas Dash are not agreeing to accept the agreement made between the two brothers on December 14, 1984.<\/p>\n

The investigation shows that the first party to the agreement is Manindra Vikas Das Gupta, Father Satish Chandra Das Gupta, Village: Dakshin Brahman Denga, Post Office: Durduri, Thana-Satkania, District: Chittagong; and the second party is Nirod Baran Das Gupta, Father Satish Chandra Das Gupta, Village: Dakshin Brahmin Denga, Post Office: Durduri, Thana-Satkania, District: Chittagong.<\/p>\n

According to the agreement, Manindra Vikas Das (1st party) will be in possession of BS Khatian-264, 1.78 century within BS Khatian-213, BS 170\/171 within BS Khatian-264, BS 217 Dag, and Manindra Vikas Das (1st party) Bhog. Khatian 264, BS 217 Dagar Andare 1.78th, BS Khatian 213, and BS 224 Dagar Andare Moazi 5th century Nirod Baran Das (2nd party) will be in Bhog occupation.<\/p>\n

Due to the collapse of the Shankha or Sangu River, many croplands and houses of Brahmin Denga were lost in the river; some started living in the city and some in the hills. When Nirod Baran Das Gupta’s house was destroyed by the river and he went to build a house on the adjacent Bhog-occupied land, quarrels and fights started with the heirs of Manindra Das Gupta.<\/p>\n

It is known to the common people that the heirs of Manindra Das Gupta, especially Indrajit Das Gupta, hired some unruly people from the area and organized a Shalishi meeting to kill Nirod Baran Das Gupta. Sensing this, Nirod Varan Das took refuge in the Gupta administration. On June 21, 2021, he made a diary at the police station, whose diary is No. 1035. Due to this, both sides are saved from major incidents.<\/p>\n

Even then, if they continued to harass in various ways, Chittagong District Police filed a complaint against Manindra Das Gupta’s sons, Indrajit Das Gupta, Sujit Das Gupta, and Sunjit Das Gupta, on October 31, 2021. All these allegations are said to be under investigation.<\/p>\n

In October 2001, during the Jamaat-BNP coalition government, Nirod Baran Das Gupta’s house was attacked by the local Jamaat-Shibir. Nirod Baran Das Gupta’s son, Tipak Kanti Das Gupta, was the organizing secretary of the Anwar Government College Chhatra League, an active leader of the Charati Union Awami League, and a senior leader of many anti-Jamaat movements. At present, Nirod Baran Das Gupta’s younger son, Haradhan Das Gupta, is known to be the office secretary of the Chittagong South District Farmers League.<\/p>\n

In 2001, Tipak Kanti Das Gupta, unable to survive in the area during the BNP-Jamaat coalition government, fled to Kolkata via Jessore in December 2001. In Calcutta, Manindra Das Gupta’s elder son took shelter in the house of Ajit Das Gupta (his cousin) and got a job in Ajit Das Gupta’s Chhatrabandhu library and mobile shop. Sanjib Das Gupta was managing the Chhatrabandhu library. When the political situation calmed down, he returned to the country in 2008 under the caretaker government.<\/p>\n

As the land dispute with Nirod Baran Das Gupta escalated, Tipak Kanti Das Gupta, the elder son of Nirod Baran Das Gupta, filed an application with the ACC on February 22, 2022, exposing the confidential information of Manindra Das Gupta’s sons, Ajit and Indrajit Das Gupta. An investigation revealed that Ajit Das Gupta used to work at T&T at Jatrabari in Dhaka. From the time of employment, the wife and sons gradually started settling in Calcutta. Swapna bought land in Ardash Para, near Virati railway station in Kolkata, and built a house called Sapna Vilas. After retirement, he moved to Calcutta with all the money. It is known that he comes to Bangladesh every year to collect pension money. It is also known that there are two more houses named Rumi Vilas and Rana Vilas in Ardash Para. Rumi Vilas is the home of Indrajit Das Gupta, and Rana Vilas is the home of Sujit Das Gupta. It is also known that they have an account at the Punjab Bank of Virati Bazar. According to special sources, each of them has a government ration card and an Indian NID in their name.<\/p>\n

There is word of mouth that, after Ajit Das Gupta settled in India, he is doing everything he can to make Indrajit a permanent resident there. They, along with Indrajit Das Gupta, are dual citizens of India and Bangladesh. They are enjoying citizenship benefits from India and Bangladesh. If the law enforcement agency investigates the matter seriously, the real information will come out.<\/p>\n

Ajit Das Gupta’s Chhatrabandhu Library and Mobile Center in Kolkata and Indrajit Das Gupta’s AM Telecom Center south of Cinema Palace in Chittagong, Bangladesh, have been accused of running a hundi business, which is said to be under investigation by the ACC. According to the ACC office, the matter is under investigation.<\/p>\n

Calcutta-Bangladesh Since Ajit-Indrajit’s hundi business came to light, the Indrajit brothers have become more angry and are said to be harassing Nirod Baran Das Gupta in various ways. The investigation also revealed that Nirod Baran Das Gupta’s elder son was kidnapped, and his younger son, Haradhan Das Gupta, office secretary of the Chittagong South District Farmers League, was also involved in various cases. But local people say that Haradhan Das Gupta is a banker and a clean politician.<\/p>\n

Asked about this, Nirod Baran Das Gupta said, I am an old man, aged 85 years. All the nephews whom I raised on my back are now a security threat to me. What can someone say about this sadness? There was an agreement between us brothers, and I am in possession of a place according to the agreement. The brother’s heirs are occupied elsewhere. So much torture is not tolerable over a settled issue. I am now suffering from insecurity due to the oppression of my nephews. I am calling not only the government but also the conscious community to stand by me.<\/p>\n
