At least four to five villages in Pirgacha and Kaunia have been destroyed. Apart from this, the growing crops, including mango, corn, wheat, and paddy, have been severely damaged by the gusty wind. Although the strength of the storm is less, in some places the buildings have been blown apart by the wind speed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">On Monday (May 15), after 10:30 PM, Kalbaisakhi storms and gusty winds continued to blow. The Agriculture Department and Meteorological Department have not reported the extent of damage until now.<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>Kalboishakhi storm suddenly started after 10:30 p.m. in several villages of Pratipal Bogurapara, Paran, Shalmara, Brakshikunda Bazar, Chawla Union, and Tambulpur Union in Pirgacha of the district. It uprooted trees and destroyed houses. Some people&#8217;s house rice has been blown away. The wall of the house has also collapsed. Paddy, maize, mango, and banana trees were damaged. Several trees fell on the Kaunia-Rangpur road due to the Kalboishakhi storm, and the traffic stopped. Fire service personnel work to remove trees. However, the traffic is normal after using alternative roads. Numerous houses and trees have been damaged in various villages around Haragach, including Kaunia Sadar Upazila.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Tambulpur Union Parishad Chairman Bajlur Rashid said, &#8220;Since the storm stopped, I have been visiting various affected areas. About two hundred houses were destroyed. Many were injured and admitted to the hospital. The extent of the damage is not known. However, listing will facilitate as much cooperation as possible.<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>Pirgacha Upazila District Officer (UNO) Nazmul Haque Sumon said that the short-term, strong storm has caused extensive damage. We are visiting the affected areas. The affected families are being listed. However, the extent of the damage has not yet been ascertained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Rangpur Meteorological Office Assistant Meteorologist Mostafizar Rahman said that 2 millimeters of rain were recorded on Monday night. At that time, the wind speed was up to 45 kilometers per hour. However, the duration of the Kalbaisakhi storm is very short. The precipitation trend may increase in the next 3 days.
