As part of smart border management, the installation of sophisticated surveillance equipment, modern and effective anti-tank guided weapons, ATVs, APCs, riot control vehicles, and air boats has been added to the BGB.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said this at the closing parade of the 99th recruit batch of the BGB on Sunday (May 7) morning. The closing parade was held at the Border Guard Training Center in Satkania, Chittagong.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Earlier, the Home Minister inspected and saluted the final training parade of the new soldiers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The Home Minister said that this army built by Bangabandhu has become a well-organized, smart, disciplined, and professional force under the visionary guidance of his privileged daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The BGB is protecting the 427 km-long border of Bangladesh as the &#8216;Border Guard&#8217;. They have earned the trust of all by combating any cross-border crime, including border smuggling and drug smuggling, trafficking of women and children, and the security of border land and resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Addressing the new soldiers, he said discipline is the basic identity of a soldier. A true soldier is one who never backs down from his orders and duties. Integrity, intelligence, reliability, loyalty, sharpness, and enthusiasm are the yardsticks of discipline and professionalism in a force. I am hopeful that the young soldiers will reflect these qualities and uphold the traditions of the force.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The Home Minister called upon the BGB to carry out the noble responsibility of safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the country by carrying out any responsibility assigned to it in an orderly manner, motivated and inspired by the four principles of the BGB: &#8220;morale, fraternity, discipline, and efficiency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In the event, BGB Director General Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan and Secretary of the Public Security Department of the Home Ministry Mostafizur Rahman was present as a special guest. Besides, senior officers of the BGB, senior officers of the army of Chittagong and Cox&#8217;s Bazar regions, senior officers of local civil administration and police, public representatives, and dignitaries were present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Note that the basic training of the 99th recruit batch began on November 20, 2022, at the Border Guard Training Center and College. Out of a total of 539 recruits at the training venue, 502 male and 37 female recruits completed basic training.
