I learned from Myanmar representatives that these camps have been made for us. In case of repatriation, we have to stay in these camps. We did not agree to stay in those camps. Because we are citizens of that country. Why do we have to stay in the camp?’<\/p>\n

He said, “Why don’t we get benefits for citizens of 35 nations in Myanmar?” We will return to Myanmar if we get the citizenship card with all facilities; otherwise, we will not go.<\/p>\n

The Rohingya delegation pointed out that Myanmar representatives had directly informed Salim that they would not provide citizenship cards. And going to Myanmar without full citizenship means being a guest. If this is the case, they can expel the Rohingyas at any moment, said the member of the Rohingya delegation. Salim.<\/p>\n

Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Mizanur Rahman said, “We made a proposal to the delegation of Myanmar who came to Bangladesh to show the Rohingyas what arrangements are there after repatriation for those who will be repatriated. They accepted our proposal, and on their proposal, we went to Maungdoo Township in Myanmar with a Rohingya team of 20 members on Friday morning. There, we were shown around the houses built for the Rohingyas. Rohingya representatives have also seen us.<\/p>\n

He said, “We didn’t feel bad. Everything seemed to be arranged. However, these are mainly for the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. We are just organizing their repatriation. Our main goal was to show these to those who would be repatriated.<\/p>\n

He also said, “Myanmar representatives have briefed the Rohingya group on these issues. Only they (Rohingyas) can tell what they saw. The next step is to inform the media.<\/p>\n

The statement of the Rohingya delegation is that they will not go to a sheltered life without citizenship. When asked about this, RRRC Mizanur Rahman said, “This is a problem that has been going on for half a century. We cannot solve this in a day or two. We took 20 people with us. It does not matter what one says; we will know everyone’s opinion.<\/p>\n

Earlier, on the same day at 9:30 a.m., the delegation left Teknaf for the city of Maungdoo in Myanmar through the Jetty Ghat of the Naf River in Teknaf, said Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Md. Samchuddauja Nayan.<\/p>\n

The delegation consisted of 20 Rohingya, including three women, a translator, and six Bangladeshi officials from various departments and an interpreter.
