This policy will be applicable to all educational institutions located within the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The policy on what to do by authorities, officials, and heads of educational institutions to prevent bullying and ragging states that no activity, gathering, or event that encourages bullying and ragging can be held. In places where there is danger of bullying and ragging, the authorities will arrange surveillance by installing CCTV cameras if necessary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Authorities of educational institutions (including halls of residence) shall report incidents of bullying and ragging in their respective jurisdictions to higher authorities; otherwise, they will be responsible for inactivity. The authority will campaign through posters on the website and premises of institutions about examples and consequences of bullying and ragging.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">At the beginning of the academic year, the authorities will make the concerned people aware of the ill effects of bullying and ragging by observing &#8216;Bullying and Ragging Prevention Day&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The students, teachers, or parents of the concerned educational institutions have to take an oath. They will sign the pledge to keep the read oath that they will never bully or ragging directly or indirectly, report if they see someone being a victim of bullying or ragging, and inform the authorities if necessary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The authorities will take measures to organize co-curricular workshops, including screenings of movies, cartoons, and TV series on the evils of bullying and ragging, workshops on online behavior, etc. on responsible behavior online.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The authorities will make arrangements for students to participate in &#8220;extracurricular activities&#8221; to prevent bullying and ragging. The teachers will present through role play for the students to get a clear idea about the evils of bullying and ragging or how one is affected by them, and also to take initiative to find solutions to the problems related to bullying and ragging.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">All educational institutions should train specific teachers and give them the responsibility of counseling. They will be called as &#8216;Councillors&#8217;. Institution heads will take the necessary steps to implement bullying and ragging policies. Educational institution authorities and field-level officers concerned with education administration will regularly monitor bullying and ragging issues and assist in the implementation of policies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">This policy has been published on the website of the Ministry of Education. This policy will be effective in all educational institutions in the country. This policy has been sent to the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Vice-Chancellors of all universities, and Heads of all institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The policy also states that every educational institution should have a bullying and ragging prevention committee with three to five members. If a complaint is received against any teacher, officer-employee, student, or even a member of the board of directors, action should be taken according to the prevailing rules.
