This decision was taken at the university syndicate meeting held under the chairmanship of Akhtaruzzaman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">This information has been provided in a press release sent from the public relations department of the university. It is said in the circular that, in the Syndicate meeting, Professor of International Relations Department of Dhaka University In the book entitled &#8220;Historicizing the 1971 Genocide: State versus Person (UPL. 2009)&#8221; written by Imtiaz Ahmed, the recommendations of the committee formed to uncover the allegations of insulting the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and distorting the history of the great liberation war are raised.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The meeting feels that some of the information presented in the book about the historic March 7 speech, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the Great War of Liberation is untrue, misleading, and a distortion of history. In the meeting, the said book was strongly condemned for presenting false information and a distortion of history. The author of the book is Professor Dr. The meeting called on Imtiaz Ahmed and publisher UPL to withdraw the book immediately.<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>At the same time, the government is requested to take legal action against those who insulted the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and were involved in or related to distorting the history of the Great Liberation War.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Retired professor of international relations. It was decided in the meeting that Imtiaz Ahmed would not be involved in any kind of academic work at the university in the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The notice also said, &#8220;Professor of Sociology Department.&#8221; A report of the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences regarding the fabricated and baseless posts on the Facebook page of ASM Amanullah about the National Curriculum and textbooks was tabled in the meeting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The meeting feels that this is an attempt to tarnish the textbook, education policy, and image of the government. Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah has already apologized for his actions. His apology was accepted in the meeting on the condition of giving a written bond that he would not engage in such irresponsible actions and behavior in the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">It is to be noted that earlier in a column published in an online media on March 29, former Supreme Court Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury complained that Imtiaz&#8217;s book entitled &#8216;Historicizing the 1971 Genocide: State Versus Person&#8217;, published in 2009, insulted Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and distorted the history of the Liberation War.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">After that, criticism started in various circles about the matter. On April 2, Bangladesh Muktijudda Manch held a human chain and protest rally at the foot of the Raju statue to demand the removal of Imtiaz Ahmed from Dhaka University and the formation of a high-powered inquiry committee to take legal action against him. Former Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury also joined there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Then Vice-Chancellor Md. formed a five-member committee headed by Fakrul Alam, Director of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Research Institute for Peace and Liberty of Dhaka University, to investigate the complaint against Imtiaz Ahmed Akhtaruzzaman. The Dhaka University Branch Chhatra League gave a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor on April 6, demanding that he investigate the allegations against Imtiaz and take action against him. In a statement on April 7, University Teachers Association President Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan and General Secretary Zeenat Huda demanded that the association investigate the allegations and take legal action against Professor Imtiaz. In such a context, the vice chancellor removed Imtiaz from the post of director of the university&#8217;s Center for Genocide Studies on April 11 and from the post of director of the Office of International Affairs on April 13.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">However, Professor Imtiaz made a statement rejecting the allegations of plagiarism in the 2009 book.
