They were arrested in the wee hours of Wednesday (19 April).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The arrested are Shahadat Hossain (23), Father- Belal Hossain, Mother- Ayesha Begum, Sang- Village- Dakshin Rezzakpur, Post- Narayanpur, Thana- Chatkhil, District- Noakhali and Balai Chandra Das (26), Father: Arjun Chandra Das. , Mother: Lilu Rani Das, Sang- Village- South Rezzakpur, Post- Narayanpur, Thana- Chatkhil, District- Noakhali.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Additional DIG of CID told <strong>The Crime<\/strong> that Hundi is one of the biggest means of money laundering from Bangladesh to foreign countries. And now, through mobile financial services (mobile banking), money laundering from the country to abroad has become easier. Some mobile banking agents looking for illegal opportunities are laundering money abroad with the active support of money laundering gangs located in the country and abroad. When the money earned by expatriates living in different countries of the world comes to the country in the form of remittances, the country&#8217;s economic condition is strengthened along with the foreign exchange reserves of Bangladesh. But this circle of hundi traders located abroad collects money from expatriates and keeps it with themselves instead of sending it to the country and the illegal money launderers staying in this country are exploiting this opportunity to smuggle money abroad. CID initiates investigation against mobile banking agents who launder money abroad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that under the cover of companies like Adarsh Telecom, Babar Telecom, New Saree Gallery and Cosmetics of Chatkhil police station of Noakhali district, mobile banking agents are involved in smuggling crores of rupees abroad through hundi. Analyzing their transaction statements, it is known that these institutions have smuggled around half a hundred crores of rupees abroad in the last 3 years through development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the overall supervision and guidance of CID chief, Hundi traders were arrested by a smart team of CID&#8217;s Cyber Police Center against Mobile Financial Services (MFS) agents involved in illegal money laundering abroad through Hundi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During interrogation, Hundi businessman Shahadat Hossain said that Shahadat Hossain&#8217;s uncle Monwar expatriate from Qatar, Mizan expatriate from Saudi Arabia, Momin expatriate from Hong Kong and several expatriates collected remittances from abroad and deposited the money with themselves instead of sending it to Bangladesh and cashed Shahadat through WhatsApp and IMO. &#8211; Sends the number to log in. After receiving instructions from abroad on WhatsApp and IMO, various individuals and institutions located in Bangladesh deposited money as Shahadat&#8217;s various banks. Shahadat Hossain withdraws the money deposited in the bank and collects the e-money of the agent number from Bikash. Shahadat and Balai receive the said money to the BKash numbers of the expatriates&#8217; relatives staying in different parts of Bangladesh as per the instructions of the persons living abroad.
