Blood donation is essential for a healthy body. Thousands of people are dying every day all over the world including Bangladesh due to lack of blood.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kerala&#8217;s Kiran Verma says that in India alone, more than 30 lakh people have died due to lack of blood. So he took a great vow to create awareness about blood donation. On December 28, 2021, he started a 21,000 km walk from Kerala, India, the longest blood awareness campaign ever. Meanwhile, he entered Bangladesh on March 11 (2023) after walking 12,000 kilometers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that he reached Dhaka through Benapole with the help of Bangladesh. On April 15, Kiran Verma held an exchange program at the Chittagong Press Club on why this Indian world traveler is committed to the blood donation awareness campaign. At 11 am in S Rahman Hall of the Press Club, youth and journalists who are enthusiastic about donating blood in the city shared their experiences with him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Organized by a safety organization named Indsafe, under the chairmanship of the organization&#8217;s general manager Sameer Bhattacharya Himel, besides Kiran Verma, the department head of the English department of Cox&#8217;s Bazar Government College spoke. A woman engages in prostitution to pay her husband&#8217;s medical bills. On December 26, 2016, he came to know the matter while donating blood for that family. The incident was very painful for Kiran Ravma. So he resigned from his job that very day and took blood donation as his life&#8217;s mission and expressed his conviction that after 2025, no one in India should die due to lack of blood.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said, this campaign will continue for more than two years. And the aim of this walk is to spread awareness about blood donation so that people don&#8217;t die waiting for blood.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kiran Verma, the founder of New Delhi-based voluntary organization &#8220;Simply Blood&#8221;, also said that his walk is to encourage new blood donors to donate blood, so that there is no shortage of blood in blood banks and hospitals. He has so far walked in 189 districts in 12 Indian states and reached Bangladesh by walking 12,000 km. He has met and is interested in meeting people and organizations that have worked on blood donation. On 15 September 2022, he established a blood bank in the name of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao with his family members in Hyderabad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also organized a three and a half kilometer marathon in Varanasi with more than 100 members. After Bangladesh, his destination countries include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Southeast India. His voluntary organization &#8216;Simply Blood&#8217; is the world&#8217;s first virtual blood donation platform, which connects blood donors and seekers in real-time at no charge. Established on January 29, 2017, this organization has saved more than 35,000 potential lives through blood donation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor Dr. Alak Chakraborty said that blood donation programs are held at different times in different colleges of Bangladesh. Since the Bangladeshi voluntary organization named Thanthi is involved in the blood donation program, he advised the volunteers of Thanthi to strengthen the blood donation program at the level of educational institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Acting President Dr. Upma Dhar said, this single noble effort of Kiran Verma will inspire all of us who are passionate about donating blood and this initiative will further accelerate the activities of voluntary organizations including Tanthi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sameer Bhattacharya Himel said in the president&#8217;s speech at the exchange of views, since our organization Indsafe works on safety, we think that blood safety has a close relationship with it. Our organization works in marine safety, industrial safety and fire safety (fire) and blood donation for workers injured in workplace accidents. Kiran Verma&#8217;s action in today&#8217;s exchange meeting will encourage us more in the future so that we can expand our activities through searchers in this field. We express our sincere thanks and gratitude to him for this awareness program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It may be noted that Kiran Verma is a Delhi-based social worker who founded the &#8216;Change with One Foundation&#8217;.
