Many of these sick people have been admitted to the hospital. News from NDTV<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The incident took place on Sunday in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. Maharashtra&#8217;s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, said that 11 people died due to heat stroke while sitting under the open sky in the state&#8217;s Maharashtra Bhushan award ceremony that day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Apart from this, about 50 people have been admitted to the hospital due to heat-related health problems, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was present as a guest at the award ceremony, and after receiving the news, he went to the hospital to visit the sick.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The awarding ceremony was held in the heat of the day, but there was no shelter over the heads of the thousands of people who came.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">After this incident, the common people raised their finger of complaint towards the administration. The government has been accused of negligence in the deaths of 11 people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In a statement issued by the Maharashtra Home Department on Sunday, 11 people died of heat stroke while attending the Maharashtra Bhushan Award distribution ceremony organized at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai. At least 120 people have fallen ill. Many of the sick were immediately rushed to the Tata Hospital in Kharghar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The event was organized to reward a social worker from Maharashtra. Indian Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the award.
