{"id":5969,"date":"2023-04-13T04:02:19","date_gmt":"2023-04-13T04:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=5969"},"modified":"2023-04-13T04:02:19","modified_gmt":"2023-04-13T04:02:19","slug":"jail-fine-for-drug-users-in-alfadanga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/5969\/","title":{"rendered":"Jail-fine for drug users in Alfadanga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Faridpur Correspondent:<\/strong> A mobile court has sentenced a drug addict named Kazi Yunus (54), in Alfadanga, Faridpur, to one year of unpaid labor and fined him Tk 2,200.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Judge Executive Magistrate and Upazila Executive Officer Rafiqul Haque passed the sentence by setting up a mobile court in the Garania area of Bana Union of Upazila with the help of the District Narcotics Control Department.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">According to the relevant court sources, the drug addict was fined Tk 2,200 and sentenced to one year of imprisonment for the crime of consumption and use of ganja.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Confirming the truth of the incident, Judge Rafiqul Haque told the Bhorer paper that he was fined Tk 2,200 and given one year&#8217;s imprisonment in violation of Section 9(1)(c) of the Narcotics Control Act 2018 under Section 36(1) 21 of the same Act for consuming and using ganja.
