Fruit, clothing, and grocery shops are crowded with shoppers. The collection of vegetable ingredients for the traditional Pachan or Ghand of Baisabi festival has already started. Various ceremonies have started in Khagrachari since the morning of April 7 (Friday) to welcome &#8216;Vaisabi&#8217; in this township.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Member of Parliament of Khagrachari Kujendra Lal Tripura inaugurated the four-day festival by organizing traditional bain weaving, pajan cooking, water games, garia dance, and painting competitions in its own premises on the initiative of the Minority Cultural Institute in Khagrachari on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Khagrachari Army Region Commander Brigadier General Dr. was a special guest at the event. Golam Mohiuddin Ahmed On Sunday, April 9, on the premises of the Khagrachari Minority Cultural Institute, in the afternoon, in memory of author and researcher Ashok Kumar Dewan, a discussion meeting and cultural program along with performances by Chakma and Marma band groups were held.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Besides, on the occasion of Tripura&#8217;s main social festival, Baisu, a colorful rally was held in Khagrachari town on Saturday morning (April 8). On the initiative of the Bangladesh Tripura Welfare Council, the rally took out from the government college grounds and circled the important roads of the city. In this, the youth of the Tripura community participated in the procession in colorful clothes. In this, thousands of women and men of all ages become a meeting place. Later, various Jhum dances, including the traditional Garya dance of Tripura, were performed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Earlier, the rally was inaugurated by Khagrachari Member of Parliament Kujendra Lal Tripura. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of Khagrachari Hill District Council, Mangsuiproo Chowdhury Apu; Khagrachari Region Commander, Brigadier General Golam Mohiuddin Ahmed; and Deputy Commissioner Md. Sahiduzzaman, District Police Superintendent of Khagrachari. Naimul Haque Mayor Nirmalendu Chowdhury, Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Representatives of various organizations attended, including Shane Alam.<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>\u00a0<br style=\"color: #252525;\" \/>On April 12 (Wednesday), the Chakma community&#8217;s Biju celebration will begin mainly in Khagrachari by floating flowers in the river.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Through this, the main social festival of the hill community will start from house to house. The next day, the main bijhu and the first Baisakh of the Bengali New Year will be celebrated by the Gazzapayya bijhu. On the last two days of the old year, guests will be entertained from house to house. Also, people of all ages wish for happiness and peace for the New Year by worshiping Goddess Ganga in the river, canal, rhyme, or fountain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">However, the Tripura community will celebrate Baisu, Chaitra Sankranti, and the Garaiya dance festival on April 14 (Friday).<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">On the occasion of Baisu, Sangrai, and Bijhu (Vaisabi), various social and cultural institutions, including the Marma Development Council, have taken various programs in Khagrachari.
