Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over this session at 11 am. Before this, the meeting of the executive committee will be held at 10 o&#8217;clock in the morning, there the duration of the session, the members of the presidium will be decided on various activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In independent Bangladesh on 7 April 1973, the journey of the Bangladesh National Parliament began under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The first session of the Jatiya Sangsad began at the then Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan in Tejgaon, Dhaka. The Father of the Nation was the Leader of the First Parliament. Accordingly, 7 April will complete 50 years of the National Parliament. On the occasion of this special session of the National Assembly of Bangladesh, the President will address at 3 pm next Friday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Before this, on March 21, President Md. under the power given in clause (1) of Article 72 of the Constitution. Abdul Hamid convened the session. This is the 22nd session of the 11th National Parliament and a special session on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Parliament &#8216;Suvarna Jayanti&#8217;. According to sources in the Parliament Secretariat, this session may last for four to five working days. The day after the start of this special session, the President. Abdul Hamid Memorial will be given by the speakers. Also, a general motion will be brought and accepted under Rule 147. Prime Minister and Leader of Parliament Sheikh Hasina will raise the proposal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Besides, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will open commemorative postage stamps on the occasion of golden jubilee. When the meeting starts the next morning on April 8, the Prime Minister will make a general proposal under Rule 147 and make a speech on it. After the Prime Minister&#8217;s speech, other members will be given an opportunity to discuss. It is known that the general proposal will be accepted after two days of discussion on April 8 and 9. However, the time may be extended by one more day if all the interested MPs are not given an opportunity to discuss.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Speaker of the National Parliament in the context of the special session. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that the first meeting of the Jatiya Sangsad was held on April 7, 1973. In continuation of this, in 2023 we are going to celebrate 50 years of the present National Parliament i.e. Golden Jubilee. This is why April 7 is an important day for our National Parliament. However, he said that even though prominent people including the Chief Justice and ambassadors of different countries were invited to this session, no foreign head of state is coming to this session. It is known that a book has been published by gathering all the speeches given in the special session held on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman&#8217;s birth centenary. Prime Minister and Leader of Parliament Sheikh Hasina will unveil the cover of this book at the meeting of the working advisory committee of the Jatiya Sangsad before the beginning of the session on Thursday. Sangsad Bhavan is being decorated in vernal colors on the occasion of the special session. The entrances to the main building of the Parliament including the entrance to the President of the Parliament, Prime Minister Speaker&#8217;s room are filled with tubs of wild flowers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On March 7, 1973, general elections were held in 300 seats of the first national parliament of Bangladesh. The number of seats reserved for women in the first National Assembly was 15. That is, the number of members in the first National Parliament was 315. The first session of the Bangladesh National Parliament began on April 7, 1973 at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan in Tejgaon. Muhammadullah was elected the Speaker of the first National Parliament and Baitullah was elected the Deputy Speaker. Later, when Muhammadullah was elected President, Abdul Malek Ukil was elected Speaker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Parliament of Bangladesh is one of the most beautiful legislative buildings in the world. Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan area is 215 acres located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of capital Dhaka. This spectacular building was designed by famous American architect Louis I Kahn. The Sangsad Bhawan area is divided into three parts namely Main Building, South Plaza and Presidential Plaza. There is an aesthetic reservoir called Crescent Lake at the back of Parliament. Besides the main building of the Parliament, there are open green spaces, picturesque reservoirs and the offices of the Members of Parliament.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1961, the construction of the 9th floor building started.
