A post-poll survey conducted around Agartala city on Wednesday (March 1) showed the BJP returning to power for a second term in Tripura. Meanwhile, Meghalaya, another state adjacent to Bangladesh, will also announce the results today. It has been reported that the results may be skewed. At the same time, the results for Nagaland will also come out today. Voting was held in Tripura on February 16 and in Meghalaya and Ladakh on February 27.<\/p>\n

But this time in the Tripura elections, all eyes are definitely on the undeclared Left-Congress alliance and Tipramotha. The Left and the Congress have walked the path of seat compromise to stop the BJP, despite not forming a direct alliance. After the failure in West Bengal, the political circles are keenly watching to see if their strategy pays off in Tripura. Again, to see how much Tipramotha, supported by the tribals, finally gives the BJP momentum by promising to join the demand for the formation of a separate state, see “Greater Tipraland. Tribals play a significant role in Tripura elections.A third of the state’s 60 seats are reserved for tribals. In the last elections, the BJP tied up with IPFT to attract tribal votes. Following the occasional conflict, the two groups are fighting together this time.However, the rise of Tipramotha is very much cornered by the IPFT. They are fighting for six seats in this election. The BJP has fielded candidates for 55 seats. A seat will be a friendly fight between the two parties. Apart from this, the Trinamool Congress is contesting 28 seats in Tripura. Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee went for an election campaign in Tripura. Although initially talking about grabbing power, judging their own organizational strength, the ruling party of West Bengal decided to fight for all 28 seats. The aim is to strengthen the ground under our feet in Tripura. After the failure in Goa, how the Trinamool will fare in Bengali-speaking Tripura is also a matter of curiosity in this election.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, as per the instructions of the Election Commission in the entire state of Tripura, the administration wants the vote counting process to be completed properly with tight security, and after the counting, meetings are being held in various areas with messages of peace to maintain peace and order in the state. Election Commission Secretary Kiran Githy and other officials of the Commission have been in the field for several days keeping that issue in mind. Besides, the state police administration and BSF personnel are also active in the field.<\/p>\n

Officials related to the polls said that the counting phase of the Tripura Assembly elections will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning with the postal ballot. However, EVM counting will start at 8:30 AM without waiting for the counting of postal ballots to be completed. Returning officers are making final preparations for counting. Counting centers have been set up at 21 locations in Tripura. Tripura Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitye said a media center and temporary restrooms for candidates and observers have been set up at the counting center.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Nagaland and Meghalaya, all four organizations showed a similar trend, but in Tripura, it was divided, according to the return survey. While one organization’s survey showed a clear majority for the BJP in Tripura, the remaining three indicated a three-way contest between the BJP, Left Front\u00a0 Congress, and Tipra Matha. If those surveys are accepted, there is a possibility of a three-cornered assembly in Tripura. However, the leadership became active in energizing the BJP workers, who had been slacking off since the polls.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, opposition party workers, including the CPI(M), have been attacked in new zeal at various places. India Today’s survey was heavily highlighted and posted one after another on the state BJP’s official social media pages. The title of a post is like this: “The ‘honest’ channel that once named Manik Sarkar the ‘honest’ Chief Minister says the survey of the India Today Group says that the BJP will win again in 2023′!<\/p>\n

According to political analysts, does the BJP have to do such a campaign to make the survey credible? To signal victory, the Tripura BJP’s Facebook page uploaded a video of a leader singing, saying that the CPM will dance at the cremation ground. Opponents alleged that this was actually done to directly encourage violence. The BJP is very skeptical about the results after people resisted voting. Efforts have been made to boost the morale of employees by using the booth return survey on this day.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, booth returns from the Left Front and the Congress have been announced even before the polls came out, which would show a BJP win. People should not be confused. The leaders of the two parties said that the government would belong to them. Like last Sunday, CPI(M) State Secretary Jeetendra Chowdhury held meetings at several places in Sabrum and Bilonia centers on Monday. He said that the people of the state have seen the reign of the jungle in the last 5 years. People spontaneously voted to get rid of it. Even though voting was blocked in some places, people organized and voted. The government will change for sure. The people of the state voted for peace. In a Facebook post after the release of the survey, he said, “Those who do not know the happiness and sadness of the people in five years are doing exit polls; it has nothing to do with reality.<\/p>\n

In a press conference held on behalf of the Congress prior to the release of the booth return survey, Congress leader Sudeep Raivarman stated that the booth return survey was conducted in exchange for money by the media.He requested that the people of the state not believe in this fabricated survey. Sudeep Raivarman said that after some time, some national media and media booths in the state will show the BJP’s victory by talking about the return. The BJP will promote these by buying slots. The survey by all four agencies gave a one-sided majority to the ruling NDPP-BJP alliance in Nagaland. In the case of Meghalaya too, all four bodies have indicated a tri-corner assembly.
